Class Overview

Bible Buddies is a joyful and engaging class designed to help Kindergarten through 3rd grade students grow in their understanding of God’s Word. Throughout the year, students will become more familiar with the Bible, learn about God’s character, and discover the good news of Jesus Christ.

Together we will explore foundational truths about who God is, how deeply He loves us, and the gift of salvation through Jesus. Students will practice finding passages in their Bibles, learn key Scripture verses, and grow in their confidence using God’s Word.

Our time together will include Bible reading, discussion, memory verses, crafts, prayer, and hands-on activities that help bring Scripture to life in meaningful ways for young learners.

The goal of this class is to nurture a love for God’s Word and help students understand that the Bible is a true and trustworthy guide for life. We will emphasize God’s character, His love for us, and the hope we have through Jesus Christ.

Bible Buddies will be a welcoming, encouraging, and fun classroom environment where students can ask questions, build friendships, and grow in their faith.

This class meets Thursdays during Period 2 from 10:05–11:05 AM and is a year-long elective for the full 32-week Ethos Academy school year.

Coursework + At-Home Learning

There is no required work to be completed at home for this class. Any suggested activities are completely optional.

Optional at-home activities may include:

• Practicing scripture memory
• Reviewing Bible passages learned in class
• Simple family discussion questions
• Optional activities that reinforce the weekly lesson

These activities are intended to be light, meaningful, and family-friendly so that parents who wish to do so can participate in their child’s spiritual growth.

Participation in any at-home activities is completely optional.

Classroom Supplies

Please have the following items available for class use:

• One composition notebook (Bible notebook)
• Pencils
• Colored pencils or crayons
• Glue sticks
• Child-safe scissors

Students will use their Bible notebooks to record memory verses, draw pictures from Bible stories, and reflect on what they are learning.

Required Materials

Students should bring the following to class each week:

Personal Bible — Our Bible study booklets are based on the ESV translation. If your child has a different translation, that is perfectly fine.
Bible study booklets (see Required Curriculum below)

Required Curriculum

For this class we will be using two Bible studies from the Foundations Series by Not Consumed Ministries. These studies help children explore Scripture while learning about God’s love and the good news of salvation through Jesus Christ.

Parents are asked to please pre-order the Primary Ages (5–7) versions of the following studies:

1. Strong Roots: God’s Love — $15

2. Rock of Salvation — $15

Each study is designed as a 20-day Bible study, but in our classroom we will move through the lessons together at a slower pace. During each class we will typically complete one study day, allowing time for discussion, crafts, scripture memory, prayer, and interactive activities.

These studies will guide our learning throughout the school year as students grow in their understanding of God’s love and the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ.

Payment & Material Fees

This class tuition is $200 per semester.

There is also a $15 materials fee per semester, which helps cover the cost of craft supplies, classroom activities, and printed materials used throughout the course.

If materials funds remain at the end of the fall semester, those funds will be rolled over into the spring semester, and the spring materials fee may be reduced accordingly if needed.

Please note that this class is not reimbursable through charter school funds.

Parent Partnership & Classroom Culture

At Ethos Academy, we value strong parent partnership. Parents play an important role in reinforcing what students are learning and encouraging their child’s spiritual growth.

I encourage families to talk about Bible lessons at home and celebrate the truths your child is learning about God’s love and His Word.

In our classroom we will work together to create an environment that is:

• Kind and respectful
• Curious and engaged
• Encouraging and joyful

Students will learn to listen, participate in discussions, and support one another as we grow in faith together.

My prayer for this class is that students leave each week with a greater understanding of who God is, who they are in Him, and a growing love for His Word.
