WELCOME TO APOLOGIA EARTH SCIENCE FOR GRADES 3-6
Apologia Earth Science is part of the upper elementary core series of classes and has been the go-to science curriculum of homeschoolers for well over a decade. This one day per week class is designed to teach, inspire, and encourage students in grades 3-6 to understand and appreciate their world in a whole new way.
COURSE DESCRIPTION (Provided by Publisher):
This science study takes students on a journey into this wonderful planet we call home. From the galaxies above to the depths of the seas, children will learn more about the world around them and the awesome God who created it! Filled with hands-on activities, this course offers fourteen modules teaching children about our observable universe, the atmosphere, hydrosphere, climate and weather, life cycle and so much more!
HOME & CLASSROOM EXPECTATIONS:
The Classroom Experience: In class, learning is dynamic—featuring videos, simulations and activities, vocabulary challenges, outlining and summarizing of information, and creating annotated illustrations and working through Apologia's fun, interactive Student Notebook Journal. To reinforce learning and ensure student engagement, students will participate in multiple cumulative reviews through competitive trivia style games and other fun challenges.
The Home Connection: As part of the upper elementary core series, this year-long course meets once a week and bridges classroom instruction with required weekly assignments. Essential skills—such as note-taking, creating meaningful illustrations, and studying vocabulary —are introduced in class and reinforced at home through assigned readings and working through Apologia's fun, interactive Student Notebooking Journal.
CHARTER SCHOOL ELIGIBILITY:
Apologia is written from a Christian worldview, so will not be reimbursed by charter schools. However, you will have plenty of great work samples to provide throughout the year.

IMPORTANT NOTE: There is currently no purchasing link. The publisher is coming out with a second edition for the 2026-2027 school year. However, you are able to see sample pages of the textbook and Student Notebooking Journal HERE.
Exploring Creation with Earth Science Advantage Set™ (comes with Textbook and Student Notebooking Journal)
If you have more than 1 student taking this course, they will EACH need their own Student Notebooking Journal.
Mechanical Pencils with lead refills (Please no pencil sharpeners. They are very messy!)
Long, thin crayons that self-sharpen (colored pencils need constant sharpening & markers bleed through the pages)
Tape
Scissors
A supply box to keep these things together and organized in their backpack.
Additional supplies worth having: water bottle (sports lid to prevent spills), tissue and hand sanitizer
PAYMENT INFORMATION & SCHEDULES:
The cost of this course is $200 with a non-refundable $25 materials fee per semester. These fees will be paid directly to Ethos who will provide you with payment information and schedules.
