Welcome to “Famous Artists.” A beginner's art class. This course will cover Art, Art History, Research, and Writing. We will take two weeks to cover some of the famous artists on our list, like Chagall, Hokusai, O'Keefe, Seurat, and Degas. We will learn the following in the first week...
* What art mediums did they use?
* What type of education did they receive?
* What are their most famous works of art?
* A coloring sheet to replicate one of their famous art pieces.
In the following week, we will create artwork in the style of one of their famous paintings. We will use the same techniques they used to create our own masterpieces. Your child will have a research paper, a coloring sheet of one of the artist's famous works, and a piece of art created by your child for every artist we learn about.
In addition, we will take a couple of breaks from learning about our Famous Artists to create some fun Holiday Artwork/Crafts.
Payment Information:
First Semester: September 8, 2026 - January 21, 2027
This one-hour course tuition is $200/semester plus a $30 material fee/semester.
Second Semester: January 26, 2027 - May 27, 2027
This one-hour course tuition is $200/semester plus a $30 material fee/semester.
This course is non-religious and may be considered “extra-curricular” for some homeschool charter programs for 2nd-4th Grade.
This class is open to children who turn 7, 8, or 9 years old on or before September 1st. Your child must be capable of writing in complete sentences or can copy content. This class is perfect for beginning artists.
