United We Stand - Our Constitution OVERVIEW

This year-long class is a combo 4th - 6th grade US Constitution and Government course.  It will be held every Thursday from 11:10 AM to 12:10 AM.  Students enrolled in this course will be enrolled for the entire class BOTH semesters.

Who knew learning about the Constitution and Government could be so much fun! This course includes inspirational biographies, an exciting adventure story, informative lessons, fun and instructive hands-on activities, and Socratic-style discussion. Students in grades 4–6 will gain a deep understanding of the principles that guided those who founded America’s Republic, including justice, liberty, duty, and equality. I always create a fun and inclusive atmosphere where students are challenged, mistakes are learned from, and core values are strengthened. My goal is to keep learners engaged and excited to come to class to see what could possibly happen next!

HOMEWORK:

Short reading assignments will be assigned every other week from the book, Mystery on Constitution Island. I will also send home optional extension or family activities. These activities are not required, but may strengthen the lessons learned each week and allow your child to become the teacher at home.
