COURSE DESCRIPTION (copied from the publisher):
America’s Story Volume 3 teaches upper elementary homeschool students (grades 3-5) the amazing history of the United States of America from the early 1900s to Modern Times. This top-ranked history curriculum by Master Books [a Christian Publisher] features an engaging narrative, beautiful historic illustrations, photographs, maps and more to help your student grasp the story of America’s history.
**Master Books is written from a Christian worldview and will not be reimbursed by charter schools. However, you will have plenty of great work samples to provide throughout the year.
CLASSWORK & HOMEWORK EXPECTATIONS:
This year-long, 1-day per week course (Tue. @10:05am-11:05am) is part of the Upper Elementary Core Series. Every class period will consist of reading, discussing, and exploring the assigned textbook pages and corresponding homework. I will incorporate videos, simulations, & activities to help bring the people, places, and events to life. Our various learning activities will include things such as creating timelines, cause/effect analyses, annotated illustrations, comparing/contrasting charts, written summaries or outlines, and identifying key places & events on a map. They will also gather in small groups to discuss leading questions intended to personalize and reinforce the topic at hand. Periodically, I will host a review day presented through fun and thought-provoking trivia style games. They will want to come prepared to help carry their team to victory!

Mechanical Pencils with Refills (no pencil sharpeners in the classroom)

Supply box to keep things together and organized in their backpacks
Additional supplies worth having: water bottle (sports lid to prevent spills), tissue and hand sanitizer
PAYMENT METHODS & SCHEDULE:
The cost of this course is $160/semester and will be paid directly to ETHOS. They will provide you with payment information and schedules.
There is a $10 materials fee for this course which will cover supplies needed for class group work, activities, and printing. These fees are due 8/5 for the Fall semester and 1/5 for the Spring semester. You can pay this via Venmo or check.
