Class Description

Course Title:  Crafting Through Art

Course objective:

Students will get an overview of the history of art including ancient art, Medieval art, Renaissance art, Baroque art, Neo-Classicism, Romanticism, Realism, Impressionism, Surrealism, and Contemporary Art through viewing select pieces from each period, examining the techniques and styles of the period, and then applying what they are learning through hands-on craft projects.

Course methodology (what you can expect from this course):

To meet the course objective, students will:

·     Hear lectures and participate in discussions

·     Watch and participate in activities in class

·     Complete craft projects outside of class

·     Take tests on the material at the end of each section

Grades will be provided as an aid to parents.

There is no text book for this course, however there will be a class fee of $25 per student for crafting supplies and other classroom materials. Fees should be paid to Jeralynne Bobinski by check or cash and can be delivered to the instructor on the first day of classes, or by mail to 10140 W. Meadowlark St., Boise, ID  83704. Each student should bring a notebook and pencil/pen to each class prepared to take notes. This class is suitable for Middle School students. It would fulfill a half year of Middle School level credit for those desiring a class for transcripts. This class may have occasional homework required.

This class is charter friendly.

Class size should not exceed 20.
