Pre-Algebra (6-8)

WELCOME TO PRE-ALGEBRA
We will be utilizing the Math-U-See PreAlgebra curriculum for this year-long course.  Pre-Algebra teaches basic rules of solving equations using the associative, commutative, and other properties. Simple operations with polynomials are demonstrated with place-value blocks for conceptual understanding before being taught conventionally. Geometry concepts include surface area, volume, and the Pythagorean theorem.

This is a 2-day per week class. It is expected that your child come both days with their homework completed. There will be time during each class period to go over any questions they may have about the homework. Should they have any questions or concepts they want to discuss further, they should write them onto post-it-notes and inserted into the text on the corresponding page to ensure that it gets addressed in class.

By the end of this course, students will be ready for Algebra 1.

**** ALL CLASSES ARE YEAR-LONG CLASSES BUT ARE CHARGED PER SEMESTER.  STUDENTS ARE  AUTOMATICALLY RE-ENROLLED INTO SECOND SEMESTER AND WILL BE CHARGED ACCORDINGLY IF PARENTS DO NOT NOTIFY ME OF UN-ENROLLMENT FOR SECOND SEMESTER PRIOR TO JANUARY 3RD, 2025. ****

This is a year-long course and qualifies for charter school reimbursements.

TUITION:

The cost of this course is $320/semester and will be paid directly to ETHOS. They will provide you with payment information and schedules.
