This is a year-long, 1-day per week class (Tue. @10:05am-11:05am) and is part of the Upper Elementary Core Series. Every class period will consist of reading, discussing and exploring the assigned text and corresponding homework. I will incorporate videos, simulations & activities to help bring the people, places and events we are studying to life. Our various learning activities will include things such as creating timelines, cause/effect analyses, annotated illustrations, comparing/contrasting charts, written summaries or outlines and identifying key places & events on a map. They will also gather in small groups to discuss leading questions intended to personalize and reinforce the topic at hand. Every few weeks I will host a review day presented through fun and thought provoking trivia style games. They will want to come prepared to help carry their team to victory!
