Robin Osborne is excited to join the teaching team at Ethos Academy this year. A native Californian, she and her husband followed their middle son to Boise, Idaho to be near family (and the three grandsons) in 2017. Having been homeschooled all the way through high school, their three sons are all grown up now with college degrees, great jobs, wives, and children.
Robin was mentored in the IEW method of teaching writing by Andrew Pudewa and Lori Verstegen.
Lori Verstegen was a writing teacher to the Osborne boys while developing her history-based writing lessons.
In 2002, Robin began teaching IEW classes through Biola University’s homeschool program Star Academics.
Completing all the requirements, she became a Certified Instructor in 2009. Some of the homeschool groups she has taught for in California include: Independent Learning Academy, Crown Homeschool Community, Saddleback Christian Academy, independent classes from her home, and summer writing intensives.
She also served as the Assistant Academic Coordinator for Humanities for Biola Star Academics (June 2007 – 2011).
Beginning in 2012, Robin joined the team as an online instructor working directly for the Institute for Excellence in Writing.
For the 2024/25 school year, she is happy to partner with homeschool families by offering junior high and high school level writing classes for Ethos.
Outside of teaching, Robin is involved in making charity quilts for her local church. She enjoys spending time with her grandchildren, traveling with her husband, cooking, and reading.
