Megan Monteiro

Hello friends, my name is Megan Monteiro. I am a musician, music teacher, accompanist, homeschooler, and baking enthusiast from Nampa, Idaho. I'm so excited to share music class time with the Ethos Academy Community this year!

My early music experience was in church and participating in various local ensembles, but while pursuing a degree in Music Industry at Northwest Nazarene University, I had the opportunity to tutor in music theory, music history, and ensemble management. I've worked as an international tour manager, event planner, and music festival coordinator, but opportunities after college led me to branch out into teaching and accompaniment. I taught instrumental and vocal music at a series of Christian private schools and homeschool co-ops for 2 years before starting a private music studio alongside my husband, where I currently teach out of our home and across the valley.

Growing up in a church congregation that sings the Psalms was very formative for me. Because I learned them through song, those scriptures stuck close to my heart and became an internal soundtrack through many hard times. Music is a powerful tool, and an important skill for children of Christ the King, because it is through music that He calls us to worship Him! Today I am very passionate about helping the next generation of Christians to grow up singing and playing to the Lord with skill and gusto, because music was given by God, and we ought to do it to His glory.
