Class Overview
This core class is for students who are looking to explore their creativity, improve their writing skills, and gain confidence in expressing their thoughts and ideas. Using the curriculum Writing for 100 Days your student will enhance their creative style, regardless of where they are at with their writing skills. This class will provide the space to grow and develop their writing skills and confidence!
Each class will consist of a combination of lessons, writing exercises, and group discussions/activities. Students will be encouraged to share their work in a supportive environment, helping to build a sense of community and peer feedback.
This class is designed to meet your student where they are at and improve their writing skills.
We will be utilizing the curriculum Writing for 100 Days as a framework for the class.

Coursework + Coursework at Home:
At Ethos Academy, we offer core classes through a hybrid learning model, which means students will complete weekly coursework at home in addition to in-class instruction. This work is essential to student success in the course.
Students will have approximately 35-40 minutes of writing time per class. Assignments will be sent home to be completed at home with guidance. Some assignments will need to be brought back to class, others will not.
Parent Partnership, Student Expectations & Classroom Culture
Parent Partnership
Parents play a vital role in encouraging and supporting their students as they develop strong study habits. Your encouragement, structure at home, and positive communication about school make a meaningful difference in your student’s success.
Parents are always welcome to contact me with any questions, concerns, or clarification needed throughout the year.
Student Responsibility
To get the most out of our class time together, students are expected to take ownership of their learning by:
coming prepared with paper and pencil that is easily accessible
Follow classroom rules and expectations
Willing to write during the specified time in class
Listen to and respect any teachers aid or classroom assistant
Classroom Culture & Expectations
I strive to create a positive, fun, and engaging learning atmosphere in my classroom. At the same time, a strong learning environment requires students to be respectful of one another and focused during instruction.
This means that when I am speaking or giving directions, students are expected to listen attentively, avoid side conversations, and stay on task. Social time is valued, but it should never take away from learning time.
By working together to keep our classroom focused, respectful, and encouraging, we create a space where every student can learn well, feel supported, and truly enjoy the process.
