Welcome to 1st and 2nd Grade Core Social Studies! This class meets on Tuesdays from 1:05-2:05 pm. We will explore American history and geography in a hands-on, age appropriate, and meaningful way!
Sample of topics we will explore during this year-long class:
Community
Our state, capital, state symbols
Cities, towns, rural, and urban areas
Geography - Identifying maps, states, rivers, major mountain ranges, North American countries, the seven contients and five oceans of our planet
Basic economic concepts
American civics and government
American symbols and landmarks
Historical figures, such as Benjamin Franklin, Paul Revere, Abraham Lincoln, Davy Crockett, and more.
This class is for 1st and 2nd grade students. First grade students must be 6 years old by September 1, 2026.

This course is a part of our 1st/2nd Grade Core program. If you would like a complete Core program, please consider enrolling your student in our 1st/2nd Grade Core ELA/Math class (Tuesdays and Thursdays) and our 1st/2nd Grade Core Science class (Thursdays) in addition to this class.
This non-religious class might be reimbursable with your charter school/incentive program. Please check with your program to determine eligibility.
Tuition: The cost of this one-hour per week class is $220 per semester, which includes a $20 materials fee per semester. The materials fee is used for copies, class art/project supplies.
