OUR COLORFUL WORLD (1st through 3rd graders) Tuesdays, 1:05-2:05 in rm. 6A
This class has been developed to introduce young artists to beginning skills and art tools. We begin the first semester reviewing the story of Creation through drawings and paintings . Students will be introduced to basic art vocabulary, and encouraged to acquire new skills through this activity-based studio art class. Children will be introduced to clay, printmaking, charcoal drawing, painting, design, sculpture, and more. Students will be introduced to color theory and will learn about primary, secondary, cool and warm colors. They will be given the opportunity to explore, create and collaborate. We may take two class sessions to complete a project. Some student work will be sent home when complete (and completely dry). All others will be collected and sent home at the end of the school year as a collection of works.
Class will begin immediately after lunch, at 1:05 PM on Tuesdays. Students enrolled in this course will be enrolled for the entire school year.
