2025-2026 FALL SEMESTER

Modern History: Explorers through Present Day (6-8)

Thu · 9:00am-10:00am

Core Class

Class is Full

Overview

This year-long History class is a middle school course that will have a customized curriculum in order to cover the large span of History, and align with Charter program requirements. Students will be exploring the amazing adventures of explorers, battles over territories and land, as well as struggles that have happened in the past and current day.

The structure of this class will be a project based learning that will integrate timelines, group projects, and presentations.  Students will be expected to read the required, and provided, informational pieces. Some may be activities or review material over previously taught material. We will move fairly quickly in order to cover the main events.  Students will also have the opportunity to make several art projects or activities to bring this time period to life.

I am very excited to partner with you in this “historical” adventure!

Homework

Homework will be assigned weekly. On average, you should allow for approximately 30 minutes of homework for each homeschool day, (M,W,F).  I will not be collecting or grading homework, however, it is important that homework is completed and brought back to class for class discussions and activities. This class will provide the necessary documentation if you are part of a charter.
