Music Appreciation/Famous Composers is a year-long course designed to help your student learn and grow in musical knowledge!
Fall Semester:
Music Appreciation
Learn the fundamentals of music in this fun, multisensory class that is paired with visual and hands-on lessons!
Join me as we explore musical concepts such as:
- Beat and Rhythm
- Sounds
- Music and Art
- Pitch and Melody
- Storytelling and Music
- Genres
- What is Composition?
Students will explore each concept with learning that is designed to tap into their creativity! Classwork will be sent home most weeks to show what we have learned.
Spring Semester:
Famous Composers
Welcome to Famous Composers! We will enjoy a fun semester learning about composers such as Mozart, Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, Souza, J. Williams, and more. We will research and learn about a new composer each week.
We will answer questions like:
- When and where they were born?
- Who or what inspired them?
- What instruments and/or genre(s) did they use?
- What type of education did they receive?
- What are their most famous songs?
Students will bring completed work home each week to highlight what we have learned in class.
Materials needed: None
Tuition for this one-hour core course tuition is $160 per semester.
A $10 material fee is due to the instructor each semester before the start of class.
